Web analytics shouldn't be complicated. Yet most tools today either drown you in data you'll never use, or spy on your visitors in ways that require cookie banners and privacy policies longer than a novel.
We built Boxy because we believe there's a better way.
Google Analytics is the default choice for most websites. It's free, it's powerful, and it tracks everything. But that power comes at a cost:
Privacy-focused alternatives emerged to solve some of these problems, but many still feel over-engineered for what most people need: simple answers to simple questions.
Most website owners want to know just a few things:
That's it. You don't need funnels, cohort analyses, or real-time dashboards updating every second. You need clarity.
Boxy is built on three principles:
Boxy doesn't use cookies. No localStorage, no session storage, no fingerprinting that persists across days. We identify unique visitors using a server-side hash that rotates every 24 hours. This means:
Every analytics tool eventually becomes a data warehouse. Features get added, dashboards get cluttered, and the simple act of checking your traffic turns into a 20-minute session.
We're intentionally building less. One dashboard. The metrics that matter. No learning curve.
Boxy runs entirely on Cloudflare's edge network. Your tracking script is under 1KB. Events are processed at the nearest data center to your visitors. There's no single server bottleneck, no cold starts, no scaling concerns.
This isn't just a technical detail — it means your analytics never slow down your site.
We track what matters and ignore the rest:
And for teams building products, we support user and company identification — so you can understand not just how many visitors you get, but who they are (when they choose to tell you).
Boxy is just getting started. We're building in public and our priorities are driven by what our users actually need. No bloated roadmap, no features for the sake of features.
If you're tired of analytics tools that do too much and respect too little, give Boxy a try. It takes 30 seconds to set up and you'll wonder why every analytics tool isn't this simple.
Boxy is privately owned and privacy-first. Read our docs to get started.
